CCPA
The California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA) manages California’s Data Broker Registry. The CPPA website includes a list of all registered data brokers including RampedUp. Our broker registration number is 538248.
RampedUp may process, collect or ‘sell’ information relating to a California resident’s job title, employer, name, email address, or phone number. Our purpose for collecting, using and sharing a resident’s information is to create business intelligence products for our clients, as more fully described in our Privacy Policy.
Your rights and choices
The CCPA provides California residents with the right to access, revise, or erase any personal information that we have collected about you.
- Identifiers
- A real name, alias, postal address, unique personal identifier, online identifier, phone number, email address, account name, or other similar identifiers. Personal information categories are as follows: name, address, telephone number, email address and website. Some personal information included in this category may overlap with other categories.
- Public Data Exclusions — Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.140(v)(2)(A)-(B)
- “Personal information” does not include publicly available information or lawfully obtained, truthful information that is a matter of public concern. § 1798.140(v)(2)(B) defines publicly available information, including certain government-record information and information reasonably believed to have been made available to the general public.
DROP. RampedUp participates in the California Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, (DROP) is a centralized tool allowing California residents to submit a single request to have their personal data removed from hundreds of registered data brokers. privacy.ca.gov/drop.
RampedUp’s participation in the CCPA
Due to the public data exclusion, RampedUp’s provision of privacy rights, access tools, correction mechanisms, or other CCPA-aligned safeguards should not be interpreted as a concession that the CCPA applies to every RampedUp record or processing activity involving a person located in California. RampedUp may provide such protections as a matter of applying best practices for privacy while separately reserving its position regarding territorial applicability in any particular case.
The process for a Data Subject Access request
- Subject provides information believed to be managed by RampedUp into the DO NOT SELL portal.
- Subject must authenticate the email address provided to view the data associated with the information submitted.
- If we do not have submitted information in our system, then a typical response is NO DATA FOUND.
- Otherwise, subject may view the data associated with what was submitted within the DO NOT SELL portal. Subject may also direct RampedUp to revise or erase.
- The sources of that data are provided in the portal.
- All Opt Outs are assigned a unique ID and given to our customers to remove from their database, if they are so inclined — rampedup.io/opt-out-list.
- RampedUp will report your Opt-Out to the state of California.
- We notify our customers about updates to the portal every 30 days.
- The information is kept on file so as not to be processed in the future.
Authentication requirements
Both a subject and an authorized agent must submit and authenticate requests through the online form as a security measure to detect fraudulent activity and prevent the unauthorized access to or delete a consumer’s personal information.
If RampedUp has a good-faith, reasonable, and documented belief that a written request to opt-out is fraudulent, malicious, or an attempt to obtain personal information without the consent of the data subject, we have legal reason to deny the request and report the effort to the appropriate authorities.
Authorized agents without access to their client’s email accounts or have requirements for bulk submittal, are encouraged to work through our partners at the California Department of Consumer Affairs — consumer.drop.privacy.ca.gov. The agency accepts Opt Out requests from individuals outside of California and RampedUp accepts a monthly file from the agency to process requests en mass.
Non-discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. Unless permitted by the CCPA, we will not:
- Deny you goods or services.
- Charge you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties.
- Provide you a different level or quality of goods or services.
- Suggest that you may receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services.
